Nerve
Original musical content for Xfer Nerve: sounds and playable starting points for other musicians.
I created samples, drum kits, patterns, and presets for Nerve, Xfer Records’ drum instrument. My contribution was the musical content that other people could use as a starting point for making tracks.
Sounds that invite experimentation
Creating a useful kit means considering both the character of each sound and how the sounds work together. Patterns and presets turn those ingredients into something a musician can immediately explore and reshape.
My wider sound practice included synthesizing kick drums from sine waves and noise transients on modular hardware, then organizing recordings into Ableton Live sets. That hands-on approach to synthesis still informs my instrument and interaction design.
